Interview Questions:

GE: What is the history of your ministry? :  JOSH AND ASHLEY FRANKS are an anointed husband/wife team whom traveled separate ways to become one dynamic duet.

JOSH FRANKS began a ministry at a very young age traveling as a soloist and evangelist. While a soloist he won 3 of the top talent contest in gospel music. Josh is known for his powerful vocal ability, exciting emceeing, and his "holy ghost filled" revival meetings. God has blessed Josh in more ways than singing and preaching. He is also a gifted musican who have never had a lesson and able to play just about any instrument he wants. About 10-12 times a year, Josh works hard promoting Gospel Music Events. He and Ashley have hosted such groups as Booth Brothers, the Hoppers, Triumphant Qt, the Perrys, Gold City, Primitive Qt, McKameys, Greater Vision, Kingsmen Qt, Karen Peck & New River, Ivan Parker, and Kingdom Heirs just to name a few. Josh was also recently elected to serve a second term as a Advisory Board Member of the Southern Gospel Music Association.

In September, 2006, Josh's life would begin to change as he would met, what he didn't know at the time, the love of his life, ASHLEY FRANKS. When Josh and Ashley met she was traveling with, Hope's Journey, the group Ashley and her mother started. Ashley had been on the road for a little over four years. She has a sweet, gentle spirit about her while delievering her songs in a soft, yet powerful voice. Many of the songs recorded and sung by the Franks have been written by Ashley. God has given Ashley a gift to write songs. Ashley has also written songs which were recorded by the Kingsmen Qt, Diplomats, the Kellys, New Desire and others.

When JOSH AND ASHLEY met, they had no idea just how much their lives were going to change. They began to see more and more until in February, 2007, Josh would ask Ashley to marry him. She very happily accepted and they were united in marriage on December 8, 2007.

GE: Where did you begin? : When we married we had never really sung together but we knew it was "mean't to be". We got married on December 8, went on our honeymoon for a few days, and then returned to Nashville to record our first recording. On New Years Eve, 2007, we stepped together in Columbia, TN for the first time as Josh & Ashley Franks

GE: Why did you choose this path of ministry? : First and foremost, because God called us to! When God says do something you do it. We just recently had a season of change. We felt in our hearts that God was dealing with us on "going home". We didn't understand until the church I (Josh) grew up in, Peoples Tabernacle Church, Savannah, TN, became without a Pastor. We begin to fill-in and help for a few months and here we are 18 months last still "helping out" but now as Senior/Lead Pastor. God has truly blessed our efforts and words. We still travel every week, however we return most each Sunday to Pastor a local assembly.

GE: Who are some of your major musical influences?: Both of us love family harmony. There is something special about it. Goodmans, Hinsons, Rambos, the list is to long! However we both love this music period!

GE: How many dates to you do per year? 125-150

GE: What kind of venues do you sing at? : We do a good bit of church events. Since I (Josh) am also a preacher, we do a lot of Revivals, Campmeetings, Crusades, etc. We have been blessed to sing at some of Gospel Music's presitagest stages. Such as;

  • Singing In The Sun; Myrtle Beach, SC
  • Bill Bailey's Gospel Music Winter Convention ; Palmetto, FL
  • James D. Vaughan Quartet Festival; Lawrenceburg, TN
  • Gatlinburg Gathering; Gatlinburg, TN
  • Main Stage, National Quartet Convention; Louisville, KY
  • Shadow Valley Gospel Music Festival; Fayetteville, TN

  • Gospel Music Weekend; Oak Grove, LA
  • Bill Bailey's Fall Gospel Jubilee; Waldo, FL
  • Jackson Sings the Gospel; Jackson, TN
  • Gerald Crabb Gospelfest; Dalton, GA

GE: Are you involved in other areas of ministry besides music? :  As mentioned early, I pastor People's Tabernacle Church, Savannah, TN

GE: Where do you see your ministry in the next 5 years? : That's a question I'm not sure I can answer. I never thought I'd see my see 5 years ago Pastoring a church today. I do know this much, whatever the Lord directs us to do, we are going to do his will.

GE: Talk a little bit about your current project and/or single?: Our latest recording is title "Freedom Blessings". Speaks much on God and Country. Our latest radio single "In The Midst of It All" is currently #28 in the Singing News Magazine. We also were just awarded with the SGN Scoops' Diamond Award for 2016 "Duet of the Year"
